Carolyn Snyder is a user experience consultant who specializes in qualitative user research and usability testing. In the past 20 years, she has conducted upwards of 1000 usability tests on a wide variety of web sites/applications, mobile phone applications, paper forms, and consumer products. Her clients are diverse, spanning the financial, healthcare, education, and technology sectors. Carolyn is based in southern NH (greater Boston area) but can travel or conduct user research and testing remotely.

Having spent the first decade of her career as a software engineer, Carolyn recognizes that design always involves trade-offs. Her role as a usability consultant is not to tell development teams what to do, but rather to help them recognize, prioritize, and solve usability problems. Her style is a unique blend of logic, business acumen, compassion, and wit. She loves to make technology work better for real people.

Carolyn is the author Paper Prototyping, the Fast and Easy Way to Design and Refine User Interfaces. (Morgan Kaufmann, 2003), and the co-author of two other books on web site usability. She holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
