Carolyn Snyder is a usability consultant based in Derry, New Hampshire (near Boston). She works with companies who want to make their software and web sites more user-friendly. She is particularly interested in e-commerce, but she works on web sites, web applications, and conventional software in a wide variety of industries. In her nine years as a usability professional, she has conducted hundreds of usability tests on dozens of products and web sites.
Many of Carolyn's clients have previously done little usability testing but recognize its importance. Having spent 10 years as a software engineer and project manager, Carolyn recognizes that design always involves trade-offs. Carolyn's role as a usability consultant is not to tell development teams what to do, but rather to help them recognize, prioritize, and solve usability problems. Her style is a pragmatic mix of business acumen, respect for developers and users, and humor. Ultimately, her goal as a usability consultant is to make her profession obsolete!
